1983 Chevrolet Corvette C3 Targa - Extremely Low-Mileage, One of the First C4s.
For different reasons this is one special corvette. Back in the USA all documentation suggests that there were only two owners until the car was imported to the UK in 2021.
The order form from June 1983 suggests that this is one of the first C4s off the production line which had an official model year of 1984. It was rumoured that the first cars had a very firm ride and suspension and soon after the American market demanded the suspension to be softened. This vehicle here is likely to be one of the forementioned vehicles, which today would appeal to the buying market.
However, its best asset is the condition and it is not dissimilar to the condition of a two or three year old car today and certainly it is reflective of it’s very low mileage of 22,000 miles
The interior, bodywork and even the wheels cannot be faulted. We have had some nice Corvettes over the years, but we have not seen a condition like this. It is remarkable that this is possibility the oldest C4 in the UK marketplace.
History proves that MK1s are the choice for collectors, and this would not disappoint the most discerning of these.
Included with the car are many documents of its ownership in the state of Washington D.C and then later in Fredericksburg, Virginia.
Interestingly in 2013 when it had done just shy of 17,000 miles the car, there are various bills for maintenance, one being to the tune $4500.
We understand the car was stored for the subsequent 7 years before coming to the UK.
Fairmont are offering this special car with a full MOT, fresh oil service, vehicle health check and a 3-month warranty.
