Finding a RHD Datsun 240Z is very hard to come by. The majority of ones we see are LHD and when we do find a UK or JDM example they are usually well used and need a lot of attention. Every now and then we see ones that have had such an incredible restoration they are almost too nice to be driven. This Datsun 240Z is none of the above. With no compromise on quality and finesse, this ‘Restomod’ 240Z has been built to a very high standard retaining much of its originality but improved so that it can be driven and enjoyed like a modern sports car.
Originating from sunny California, this vehicle was imported in 2002 by known specialists Fourways Engineering, who carried out a full restoration and RHD conversion with the clock showing 17,000 miles. In 2016 and at 38,000 miles, the current keeper loved the car so much that he embarked on a large recommissioning task which included much cosmetic work and a full engine rebuild. Costing more than £40,000 to restore and modify the previous owner has confirmed that he has spent far more than our asking price.
The end result is a beautiful and unique 1970s classic car that is running 250+ BHP, drives and revs like an RX-7 and sounds like nothing we have ever heard. It has the best of both worlds, the performance of a modern car and the cool looks of a classic. For interested parties and those that are more technically minded please read through the list below of the modifications. If you would like to view and drive the car, please contact us and we can arrange a test drive on a dry day. This car really has to be seen and heard in person.
