Pleased to be offering for sale this incredible opportunity to own this 1979 Honda CBX 1000.
The CBX is very much a rare sight to be seen these days, mainly due to the fact is was only ever made for 4 years and when new, they were horrendously expensive, costing well over twice what the CB750 did!
The CBX story actually starts years before its production when Honda changed the motorcycle game in the late 60s with the CB750 which is arguably the most important bike in the last century.
When Kawasaki took the super bike mantle from Honda with the Z1, Honda knew they had to do something big to contend with their Japanese counterpart. Honda went back to the history books and started taking inspiration from the iconic Honda RC166 250 six cylinder bike which was ridden by Mick Hailwood to great success.
The CBX 1000 was born and what an engineering masterpiece it was.
Like nothing ever seen before, the most powerful motorcycle in the world on its release and even now 40 plus years on they are a sight to behold.
This example is a very rare, low mileage machine which has undergone a tremendous restoration with a plentiful supply of paperwork done under the previous keepers 14 year ownership.
A genuine, UK supplied bike that makes it more desirable than foreign imports and a must-have for any serious collector.
This motorcycle is a true testament to the artistry and craftsmanship of Honda's golden age.
