What a special MKII Jensen Interceptor this is. We were told by the previous owner that TV heart-throb Robin Ellis from the original Poldark series was its first owner.
Presented in a fabulous period looking and modern colour of Porsche 50th anniversary grey with contrasting black leather seats - this is an eyeful of an Interceptor. The imposing presense, power and distinctive shape with its famous wrap around glass hatch drew the attention of esteemed owners such as HRH Princess Anne, Cliff Richard, John Thaw, Tony Curtis and Eric Morcambe to name a few.
The history and the expenditure on this car are huge. Firstly, the history goes back to the original Jensen factory quality check sheet, showing all the notes and approval signatures against all aspects of the car. There is also a copy of the car’s particulars from Jan 1970 which include engine, chassis, key, and radio numbers.
More documents included from its early years when Jensen Motors Ltd facilitated bodywork and mechanical repairs on behalf of its owners insurers General Accident Insurance co. Some detailed, interesting documentation and reading, from the wonderful 70’s era.
From 2001 investment went into the car which included serviceable items and general maintenance, from 2015 a huge amount was spent on restoration and reconditioning. All the vehicles work has supported documentation and a very detailed schedule from the vehicles most recent owner highlighting all the invoices for works that were carried out, and the costs for those works. In total there is £39000 worth of invoices, the file is huge.
There has been some additional works carried out by Fairmont Sports and Classics including required welding to some areas of the underside which has significantly improved this car. The old underseal has been removed and a new coat applied.
It’s fair to say that so much has been carried out to this car that very little should be required for some time to come.
The most recent service was carried our in 2023. This vehicle will be supplied with an oil and filter service carried out, an MOT if requested and 3 Months nationwide Autoguard warranty with option to extend.
