I truly take my hat off to the last owner of this car. His patience and skills must be incredible as to deliver a Lancia Beta this good with it being such a rare car is mightily impressive.
As well it is an original RHD UK vehicle and could possible be a sole survivor making it probably the rarest car we have in our showroom.
In my teens I lived in a community with many Italian families, and this car was the daddy of them all and the coolest car on the streets. When we saw one, we gasped at the cool looks and obvious envy came all over those of us less fortunate or less cool.
Sadly, as has been well documented Lancia suffered with serious rust issues which makes this rebuilt rust-free example quite impressive. The previous owner bought this car back to its former glory with hard work and dedication costing a huge figure up and above its asking price today. It was stripped right back to its bare shell with a large welding job carried out to the sills, rear wheel arches and other areas as required.
A full respray was completed to Rosso Red – pure Italian and remains in a lovely shiny condition.
The underneath was painted and covered in coloured anti stone chip treatment ensuring that this vehicle doesn’t fall victim to those seen in the past. We have pictures of the underside if requested.
The front and rear seats have been retrimmed in an original Lancia style finish as have the genuine black Lancia carpets. Most of the vehicle’s rubbers have also been replaced as these would typically go hard.
Finished off with impeccable chrome, the original Lancia Beta wheels and the rally style front fogs, this Spyder looks purposeful and ready for the mean streets.
We understand that during the restoration process a new clutch and bearing was fitted, and the engine received some required recommissioning. The engine bay presents very well indeed.
Brake calipers rebuilt, new lines, discs and pads also carried out. Exhaust replaced and fuel tank cleaned out. Some dashboard clocks were replaced which included the original 80,000 odometer. We are now on a replaced new odometer showing a few hundred.
There is limited paperwork with the car which is a shame.
This vehicle will go through the Fairmont workshop where it will be thoroughly inspected, and an oil and filter service carried out.
A 3-month Autoguard national warranty is included and can be upgraded to 12 months at a reasonable cost.
