Marlin are a small specialists sports car manufacture based in Devon who have been in production since the early 90s. They built this example in August 2007, and this is rare, being one of only two factory-built Sportster M3s, with the other one in Romania.
Originally a BMW MZ3 Roadster and features a E36 BMW M3 3.2-litre straight-six Evolution engine with 315bhp, mated to a five-speed M gearbox and a BMW running gear. Power to weight ratio is truly staggering. This car is not for the faint hearted…
It is without question a thrill to drive, lively and the throttle is very addictive. As the car weighs next to nothing, it is great fun and puts down power in no time. Phenomenal direct steering, handling and breath taking on full throttle.
A head turner for sure, finished in Chrysler Inferno red with 17-inch wheels, Brooklands aero screens, luggage rack and tonneau cover to protect the driver and passenger areas. The car has been purple poly-bushed throughout.
This Sportster has been meticulously maintained and has been garaged with a trickle charger and a car cover. It has also had an engine flush and Liqui Moly treatment a few months ago.
