Super Rare 1988 Nissan (Z31) 200ZR Turbo Targa which has just arrived in the UK.
The 200ZR was the final straight-six-powered Z-car and perhaps the least known of the Z-car back catalogue. It is almost certainly one of the rarest being a Japan only model, and was never offered in any other market.
The straight six engine is the famous RB20DET, which over the years has been fitted to a number of high performance Nissans including the mighty Skyline, and features dual overhead camshafts and a capacity of 2.0 litres.
Originally introduced in October 1985, the 200ZR was the first production car in the world to use a ceramic turbocharger (according to Wikipedia!) and the maximum power output was in the region of 200bhp. Another period feature is the functional and prominent bonnet scoop which feeds the factory fitted top mounted intercooler.
The standard and rather bland wheels have been replaced with a set of BBS style multi spokes, which work well with the otherwise stock appearance. The exterior is in very good shape for its age with only some light trim wear evident. The paint shines nicely with plenty of depth and the body has no dings or dents.
Noteworthy items on the exterior include the T-Top roof panels which are easily removed to allow for open top motoring.
The interior is a homage to all things 1980’s with embracing soft velour bucket seats and the all-important turbo boost gauge, whist a momo three spoke steering wheel has been fitted to replace the rather unattractive and bulky original item.
A very special and rare classic Z Car in great original condition which will be fully prepared in our workshops and supplied with a fresh MOT before sale.
One for the Z Car connoisseur!
