Vehicle Information
Originally supplied new by Porsche Glenvarigill in Edinburgh to the tune of £69,000, this stunning 1999 Porsche 911 (996) Carrera 4 is finished in the best colour combination, comes with excellent service history and has had 3 owners and just 48,650 miles recorded from new.
Featuring the six-cylinder 3.4L engine which produces 296bhp and is capable of achieving a 4.8 second 0-60 time, which are still impressive numbers to this day. It features the sought-after 6-speed manual gearbox and being a 1999 example it has the benefit of permanent four-wheel drive. This car sits on its original 17’’ Carrera 4 wheels which were an optional extra at the time, and all present in good original condition. Other fitted extras from new include air-conditioning, sunroof and factory fitted rear parking sensor.
Beautifully presented in Ocean Blue and complimented by the Natural Dark Grey interior, it is a rare, sophisticated combination and one of our personal favourites on the Porsche range. The coachwork and interior present exceptionally well for a car that is coming up to 25 years young. The paintwork has a deep glossy shine to it, with no major defects to mention, only a few stone chips on the wings which is to be expected.
Included with the car is a large folder of invoices for servicing and many many replacement parts, plethora of MOTs, original bill of sale and a spare key. The bulk of servicing was carried out by the suppling dealer Porsche Glenvarigill Company Ltd from 1999 to 2009. Since 2009, the car has recorded just 8000 miles and was last serviced by CRM Motors in Lanark in 2019 at 48290 miles.

About the Model
When Porsche introduced the 996 in 1997 it was a design and technical breakthrough and brought the famous Porsche 911 right into the modern era. Moving significantly away from its predecessors, the 996 featured a modern chassis, a brand-new water-cooled engine and the much sleeker design by Pinky Lai
The 996 was developed alongside the Boxster and shared various interior components, front suspension, and the engine, all of which were enlarged for the 996. It’s high performance 4 valve per cylinder engine and the recognisable fried-egg headlamps have really come to define the generation. Best of all they are the most affordable, entry-level 911 that a lot of enthusiasts can step into and in our humble opinion they are a real drivers car and offer a lot of fun whether as a weekend car or a daily driver.
