The S201 was a factory tuned car based on the GC8 Impreza, with STI putting all its know-how and expertise into creating a superb on-road sport car. Engine output was increased to 300 PS using both a special sport ECU and modifications to the intake and exhaust systems. Chassis performance was enhanced with reinforced suspension to adjust car height, a rear full pillow lateral link, and rear full pillow trailing link, while 16-inch forged aluminium wheels, developed jointly with RAYS were fitted.
The drive system featured a front helical LSD. In addition to a front aero bumper with integrated grill, a large air scoop, bullet door mirrors, side skirts and rear door spats, and double-wing rear spoiler, the diffuser-shaped rear aero bumper created a powerful form. As a result, this vehicle boasted a purposeful image in both its performance and appearance.
It was the last of the line for Subaru with this model and wow, what a statement they made.

Compared to the less powerful and less exclusive 22B this S201 limited edition 61/300 looks incredible value and benefits from being VAT Qualifying so exporters can reclaim 20% and pay taxes locally in their own country.
There will always be 22B's for sale but i doubt you will ever see another S201.
