Could this be the perfect London ULEZ exempt transport?
The Toyota Land Cruiser, in its many sizes and configurations, has had a long and successful history of reliable service through the most rugged of conditions. Introduced in 1960, it was available as the FJ40 series and was available in long, medium and the more desireable short wheelbase.
So good were these vehicles that they became indispensable in remote areas of the world, in particular Africa and developed a devoted following among America's off-road culture. Finding a good vintage example of the FJ is a challenging task.
This right hand drive example was imported recently from Malaysia and from our inspections it appears to be in an incredible condition throughout and we believe it to still have its original paintwork. We have looked closely and can see no signs of obvious paintwork carried out and little to no signs of impending rust. With its excellent interior, clean engine bay and underside its our opinion that this vehicle has lived a charmed life.
The straight six 3.9 petrol engine was the most powerful available and for its day had huge torque of 209lb/ft which makes it easy to drive.
It comes with power steering, a modern air con/heating system, (a universal kit often fitted to old Japanese and American classics), rear seats fold up to provide more rear storage space if needed.
It is supplied with a UK V5 showing one business keeper and it comes with an official and original registration booklet which charts some of the vehicles early movements.
