1976 Triumph Stag
This, is a lovely car.
The heritage certificate shows the car to have been manufactured on 19 May 1976 and delivered to the supplying dealer, Dutton Forshaw in Kettering some 6 days later. The car was supplied by Dutton Forshaw to the first of its modest number of owners in Thetford, Norfolk, being registered on 23 June 1976. The car to this day wears its original registration plate OBD 260P.
The car is very original. The coachwork is finished in Tahiti blue, which presents well, complemented by the black interior which is very good condition reflecting the car’s light use over the years. The interior shows no excessive wear or any damage and the dash and wood trim are all in good order. Whilst in our custody we have fitted a new mohair hood at the cost of £1500 which looks the part. Our Stag was supplied new with overdrive (which still works perfectly), inertia reel seat belts, head rests and alloy wheels. The Stag of course comes fitted not just with electric windows but also rear seats, which make it an ideal family friendly classic combining sports car looks and performance with practicality.
The car starts first time, runs and stops as it should with factory fitted front discs. We have a full folder of history over the years which reflects careful ownership and attention. The vehicle is currently showing 53,100 miles, which although cannot be guaranteed we have no reason to believe is incorrect. That mileage is an average of around 1,000 miles a year of its 49 year life.
Originally supplied in the long hot summer of 1976 the car is now ready for more summer fun and will be supplied with a fresh oil and filter service.
